Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine, with a written history of over 3,000 years. Extremely fine needles are inserted into points on the body on channels of energy known as ‘meridians’. Stimulation of these points has been found to have great curative and therapeutic effect on a wide range of conditions.

Some of the problems most commonly treated in clinic include*:
  • Pain (including Back Pains, Injuries, Joint Pains, Arthritic Pains, RSI, Headaches, Migraines)
  • Fertility Problems (Improving success rates of natural and assisted conception methods)
  • Gynaecological Problems (Including Painful Menstruation, Heavy Periods, Lack of Menstruation, Menstrual Pain, PMS)
  • Digestive Problems (Including IBS, Indigestion, Acid Reflux)
  • Low Energy and Unexplained Tiredness
  • Sleep Problems
  • Skin Conditions
  • Emotional Problems (Including Stress, Anxiety, Low self esteem)
*(This is not an exhaustive list. If your condition does not appear above, please contact for further information).

Acupuncture is an holistic form of medicine, meaning that health is viewed as a culmination of physical, mental and emotional well-being. Disharmony in any of these areas can lead to problems in other areas. Thus, acupuncture treats the whole person, not just a presenting symptom. The goal of acupuncture treatment is to treat the root cause of ill health, rather than suppressing the manifestation of the problem.
