Alexander Technique

A way of change through movement and awareness.

Are the creaking knees and aching back, the teenage slump and the old age stoop as inevitable as we believe? Are stress, lack of energy and the feeling that we are not in full control or our lives just something we have to put up with? Do you have the sense that there must be a better way to manage your life, if only you knew how?

Fortunately there is a better way, discovered in the late nineteenth century by a persistent young actor named F.M. Alexander, who was attempting to solve a quite different problem….. Alexander realised that the way we use ourselves affects the way we function - we don't simply have bad backs, often we give ourselves bad backs!

By bringing thinking into activity, a whole new way of living can open up, leading to a better quality of life. Good use brings fluidity and ease of movement, enabling us to achieve more with less effort.
